Registration now Requires Administrator Approval; Re Spammers

Hello FilipinoWriter.com Members!

Sorry I have been very busy lately so I wasn't able to monitor the site  and act post-haste on the spammers that have been disturbing this site. As initial remedies, I have:

1)required administrator approval for those who have just registered. Those who want to become members of the site and register now also have to send a message from the e-mail address they used to register and explain who they are and why they want to join the site. As usual, please click on the validation link in the welcome message you receive after your membership is approved, so your membership will be authenticated and you will be able to post.

2)temporarily enabled administrator approval for all posts (all content types, e.g. blog entries, literature posts, etc.) including comments.

I will also be instituting other measures -- once I have more time on my hands -- to address this spamming problem.

Update: Admin approval for posts removed; FW moderators

I have just removed administrator approval for comments and other posts. Soon, I will assign some FilipinoWriter.com members to Moderator roles. They will moderate comments and posts. Spam comments and posts and user accounts of spammers will be immediately deleted.
