Rain

“Rain”

By: Elmer C. Murillo

Pour out, clean my heart

Wash my sorrow and doubt

Soak me; makes me wet

Forgetfulness I shall meet.

In every drop beneath my skin

Memory flash of evergreen

I smiled, yet tears burst out

Sprinkled raindrops, bitterness sprout.

Rain, come and drown me in

Swallow every scorching of my pain

Melt the tear inside my vein

Undo all the bitterness in my heart and brain.
