Pre-order J.K. Rowling's 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' at Amazon
Hi everyone,
Amazon has just informed me that The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com. This book of fairy tales was written to supplement the Harry Potter series and will be published in two new editions on December 4, 2008.
Standard and Collector's Editions
The Standard Edition features all five fairy tales from the original The Tales of Beedle the Bard, a new introduction by J.K. Rowling, illustrations reproduced from the original handcrafted book, and commentary on each of the tales by
Professor Albus Dumbledore.
Meanwhile, the luxuriously packaged Collector's Edition (available exclusively at Amazon) is designed to evoke the spirit of the handcrafted original. It is housed in its own case (made to resemble a wizarding textbook found in the Hogwarts library). The Collector's Edition includes a reproduction of J.K. Rowling's handwritten introduction, as well as 10 additional illustrations not found in the Standard Edition. Opening the cover of the case reveals a velvet bag embroidered with J.K. Rowling's signature, in which sits the piece de resistance: your very own copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, complete with metal skull, corners, and clasp; replica gemstones; and emerald ribbon.

Like what I said in the article on copyright, you don't need to register your work -- immediately after creating your work, you own its copyright. However, to protect yourself, you may want to mail a copy of your work to yourself before sending out your work so that in case of litigation, you have something to show as proof.
RE: copyright
Thanks po! Instead of mailing it to myself, is it ok to publish it in my blog?

Puwede rin. Kaya lang it will be another risk because it will be seen by the public, and I'm not yet sure if a blog has been used yet as evidence in court proceedings regarding copyright involving a screenplay.

Go to the offices of the studios or call them (try searching Google if you don't have their contact info). Also try to approach directors. You may also want to join contests to get noticed.

I'm planning to send a spec script together with my resume to a Movie company here. Should i get a copyright first so i'll be protected in case somebody steal it? and how and where to get a copyright? thanks.
