A Memory of Madness

|

I stopped breathing,

Holding your hand -

There was heavy silence

With the way the leaves were falling

I looked out the window and

A droplet of water froze in mid-air

I pulled out a strand of sound wave

From a cricket's eternal cry

The world was shifting

To where, or how, I did not know

I was careful not to cry

Not to wake-up anybody

From their comfortable sleep

The moon was shining bright

There was rosewater in the air

Your whole life was submerging

Like a submarine

The last page of a novel

A dying light

And then there was nothing.
