A Memory of Madness

I stopped breathing,

Holding your hand - 

There was heavy silence

With the way the leaves were falling

 

I looked out the window and

A droplet of water froze in mid-air

 

I pulled out a strand of sound wave

From a cricket's eternal cry

 

The world was shifting

To where, or how, I did not know

 

I was careful not to cry

Not to wake-up anybody

From their comfortable sleep

 

The moon was shining bright

There was rosewater in the air

 

Your whole life was submerging

Like a submarine

The last page of a novel

A dying light

 

And then there was nothing.
